I don't have a good idea of something to blog about. I want to blog every day because I think some people read it, but recently there have been no comments, so maybe we're down to just my mother at this point. Can you folks tell me what you'd like to read here? Which posts are particularly interesting? What I haven't posted about that you keep wanting me to? Reassure me that I'm not talking to a brick wall here.
Love,
Briony

It's a well known secret in the blog community (and as a professional blogger, I can say this with authority) that only crazy people comment. But I'm crazy for your blog. I'd prefer more on the love lives of Iraqis and your living conditions there.
I read it.
and i like the this is what life is really like part.
have faith! i'm back to internet after a summer without and have enjoyed catching up. i agree: keep us updated on the daily life stuff. what may now seem normal to you will still be pretty foreign to those of us in the west.
Last night we were at a party and a woman told me your blog is the first thing she reads every day. She said she thinks it is fantastic and loves the variety of things you write about - from how terrible the food is to the scary-serious stuff. She said you are a fantastic writer.
Please keep on writing!!! I read your blog every day and report to the family! You give us an opportunity to see into Iraq that is not available anywhere else AND we get to keep track of you! I also agree with your mom's party friend- you are a wonderful writer ( and journalist!)
Two of the things I've really enjoyed hearing about are your developing relationships with the people you are working with, especially the Iraqis, and your occasional flashes of ... critical awareness raising? dare I say opinion? ... on the war and media coverage of it.
But really, I've enjoyed it all, and definitely hope you keep writing!
i've read every post you've made, and i'd be very sad if you stopped. it's really amazing to me that you're actually doing all these things, although i must admit i'm not surprised.

of course i read. also, nice job with the columbia reunion - i read it on the columbia home page yesterday.
i guess i'm just interested in your observations about people and what things are really like there vs. what we hear about every day.
also, i miss you.
ditto, sofia.
I, too, hang on every word.
I, too, have been faithfully reading. Don't stop! :) My favorites are not the big things--what Petraeus said, or anything--but the little, day-to-day details that paint such a clear picture of what you have to deal with over there.
Frankly, I'm amazed you find the time and energy to blog at all. But I hope you continue to do so. You don't have much time left there...

I also read it every day. I just hate posting comments on blogs. I, like Richard, love the day to day details, but read every word amazed.

I read. My Mom also reads and worries about you, despite never having met you. So you have to keep posting. There are Moms up and down the West Coast who need to know you're doing ok.
Sometimes I'm about as insightful as a brick wall (which is maybe why I don't usually comment?), but I'm a lot more appreciative!! xox.
